Found a Honey Hole last night

My buddy and I took a drive and started knocking on doors last night. We experienced what I think is a rarity anymore. We located a spot right off the road where I had seen lots of birds over the summer. When we pulled in the owner came out and was just absolutely awesome. He told us we could hunt his little acreage and that nobody had been there in two weeks. He then said come out any time you want as there are tons of birds. Well we unloaded the dog and headed into the grass and it wasn't long till we had one flush and as soon as the gun fired we had at least a thirty bird flush! It was beautiful to see. We worked that little spot for the rest of the evening and got up more birds than I've seen in a while. I can't wait to get my son out there this evening to see if he can bag his first rooster.

Glad to hear of your success! You just won the lottery! Just goes to show you a little persistence pays off. Here's to ya:cheers:

I've got a little spot like that too. Can't be more than 2-3 acres but I flushed upwards of 50 birds out of it. Right off the state HWY about 1/4 mile.

Places like that are hard to find these days! Nice to know they are still out there.

Return the favor and send him and his family a turkey for Thanksgiving or a ham for Christmas! You want to keep that relationship strong!

I've only known this guy and his wife two days. They are the real deal as far as genuine, kind people go. I'll be coming up with something special for the both of them no doubt!

Years ago we had about ten farms in Nebraska we would spend all morning delivering turkeys a week before Thanksgiving as appreciation of allowing us to hunt! Great story!
Yes there are still great folks out there.

That's a great report--I thought it only happened like that in the old movies.
Nice prospecting!!!
