Farmers seeing any birds?

All this really is do to many thing Drough, farmer and congress. Drought is the big factor ofcourse but the way farmer farm is way different than it was just 20-30 yrs ago. Congress is not working on a good Farm Bill they are stalling. Since CRAPTASTIC Obama hit office everything has hit the fan. Pheasants and conservation aren't top priorities in the government's eyes spending money on there own personal gain is. Sooner or later we won't be using the dollar cuz we are borrowing to much money. I see wild pheasants become preserve pheasant in the matter of years which sucks. Just look South Dakota they are letting go pheasants so people will come and spend money on hunting. Anyway thats my rant for the day.

Dude did you ever take a civics class? wow

Had coffee with a friend we hunt on in SW Kansas this morning.....says they are seeing birds.

Man, I sure hope they are. My dad tells me he still isn't seeing any, but I don't think he's looking very hard either. If it's not exceptional, he tells me there aren't any birds......whatever. Either way, that's great news BDC2; thanks for sharing!

I have heard from my local guy that he has seen birds in some parts of SW Kansas (that's has specific as you will get from me:thumbsup::p;) )

I think it will be "okay" this year, can't be any worse. Excited about taking out my young pointing lab on wild roosters...should be a good time with my dogs and my 14yr old son.

KB, my brother has been over your dads way off and on, raking hay. Didnt sound very good. Hes a lot like your dad though, I think one would have to the winshield before he noticed it.

OAP i'll be about a half a day n.e of there in a 71 montigue trailer. Look me up. You're welcome to stay, no heat and no plumbing though

I drove the entire state south to north on highway 83 on Thursday. Then, I down the entire stare from north to south on 183 yesterday and did not see one single pheasant along the way. The cover is a little better than I expected though. Good luck and be safe.

I think Im going hunting near Syracuse and in Wichita and Wallace counties. 2 of the farmers i talk to for deer hunting said they birds were extremely thick when they were cutting their corn. Saw so many they had to slow down in spots. Lots of WIHA in those 2 areas. Will allow me to get my deer scouting in as well.

I'll enjoy being in the mountain time zone. Cant wait, it was such an exciting report.

Anyone else heard the same?
