Editing Your Posts

I often catch some mis-spelled words in my posts and go in an correct them. Is there a reason that you can't correct the title of your post? If you make a mistake in the title and don't notice until after you submit the post it can't be corrected. How about it Webguy?

I have ran into that also George, I would love to know how to correct it, short of deleting the whole post.........Bob

I could not get it to work. I changed the word when viewing the thread but not when the title is posted on the board. This is the post I am trying to change. http://www.ultimatepheasanthunting.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3490

OK I did it for you M, You have to delete the whole title first if you have a sub title in your post. Then save with no title. Then go back in to advance and type in what you want and it will put it on both the main title and the sub title. I think it is what you wanted any way. Try to practise it on one of your guy's post's and see if it works. FCS

FCS I still can't get it to work. Maybe it is my simple mind. Can those of us who are not moderators do this? I think I emailed Webguy once about this.

Thanks for fixing my post.

I tried this and was only able to change the sub title in the actual post, the main title on the forum was not changed. Tried deleting then saving and re-typing, but it would appear the main title can not be edited.

I think what we are going to see is the same thing that has caused the down fall of so many societies. The underclass realizing that they do not have the same privileges has the ruling class, and then the revolution will begin.

Moderators and myself can edit the thread. It basically comes down to, make sure when you create the thread, that you carefuly inspect the quality of the title. If a thread title is messed up, contact a moderator. But you do have the ablity to edit your post. Hope that helps.

I fail to understand why us members can't correct the title of our own threads. I'm able to do it on other sites. Is there a reason we are forbidden?? Seems like and easy programing change would take care of it.
