Duck Hunt too

There's more duck's unlimited members vs. Pheasants Forever members too. Simply put, there's many more duck hunters out there. This equals a larger target market for advertisers/sponsors for duck hunting programs.:)

I wish there were more wild pheasant hunting programs out there. Even pheasant hunting DVD's lack in #. Though there are a few good ones out there.

I personally don't like the dialogue on the duck hunting shows. "Whack 'em stack 'em", "kill that drake", just "kill 'em", even the shells Federal bold letter, double ad, " CUT EM". Quail hunting programs are hard to film, hard to see, death photos look like sorry little morsels of fluff. Pheasant shows are preserve birds, to many miles and uncertain filmogramphy on the rise. So the duck hunters and goose hunters save from the deer punchers and sandal loafed golfers who take time out from the sight seeing trip to slip up on big dangerous game in Africa, feverish looked over by the well armed guide and attendants. Yahoo!

So which one would you say had more tradition and talent?

It's simply more entertaining to watch a bunch of greenheads dumping on some dekes, or a bunch of geese piling in some cut corn. Upland shows are boring for the most part. I don't spend much time watching either.

I've seen a few shows with wild pheasants flushing every which way. Shows like that, we pheasant hunters can relate to and get pumped about.

But when it comes to shows with guys pushing pen birds I can't take it. In that case, I'm with you and will stick with the duck hunting shows.

I primarily duck hunt because there is more opportunity in Texas to harvest ducks. With that being said, I really liked old Tom Knapp's American Bird Hunter Show. It was pretty entertaining and did a decent job of filming some pheasant hunts....

I will watch any show with good dog work. I always enjoyed the Hunting with Hank show. Single guy out with his setter in the west. Great scenery, good dog work and some fine shooting video.

He always struck me as a guy who just enjoyed hunting, had a hunting pet/family member and wasn't a professional trainer/hunter. Sort of like most of us I would guess.

I only have access to commercial TV, and the offerings of Buck McNeeley.

Someday, might we please have a non-loud-mouth Sportsmen's host?

Thank you for putting my EXACT thoughts in print. I have a neighbor who I really like but would never hunt with because of his attitude. To me taking game is wonderful but my children and my dogs know once the game is down there is a moment of silence for the life of the animal. I don't care if it's a tiny dove or a moose this animal gave it's life so you could #1 eat it, #2 enjoy the chase, #3 watch your dog enjoy him or herself.

No I don't like current hunting videos. Once the American Sportsman with Curt Gowdy did show these values but that concept is lost on a lot of modern day hunters and fisherpeople.
