Do you feel bad?

Of all of us that bird hunt with a lab, do you feel bad at all that either you don't like duck hunting or don't spend the time to take them duck hunting?
 
Not at all. My boy is just happy to be in the field. I do plan on getting back into goose hunting again this coming year. Probably do some duck hunting too, but really miss goose hunting. I'll still do a lot of upland, but get an extra 2 weeks of hunting with goose after upland ends here.
 
Nooooooooo! lol! To be honest, I feel bad when I make her sit in a duck blind, as she is 10x happier going after pheasants! When we're sitting in a duck blind at dawn and hear a pheasant cackle she gives me this look "C'man Dad, can we GO now?".
 
My Labrador prefers upland. Doesn't like the 5am wake up, long periods of time without birds in the duck blind, makes a guy belly up snoring on the blind bench. Pheasants are much more intriguing! but we do like the mud and water.
 
I enjoy hunting where I'm as likely to kick up a Mallard as a Rooster.:thumbsup:
 
Sorry I run Goldens but they do enjoy chasing roosters much more than sitting in a boat, or laying down in a field as I watch the first few from the flock land! I did do some guiding at a game farm and we had a duck shoot. They were so overwhelmed at times that they would come back with two ducks in their mouths because of all the action. But that is rare in the wild!

Plus, I don't start hunting ducks till 9, at the earliest. I like the ten to three window. All the other hunters have left, and I pick off the singles, doubles, etc... as they come back to where they wanted to be in the morning.

Don't tell our secret. I have shot plenty of birds hitting the public area mid-morning. My dog loves to hunt, loves the water, loves to go. He doesn't really care where we are at.

sorry guy's, gsp's also have web feet and love to duck hunt. some of them will also cold water retrieve besides, and a goose is no problem. mine also will make most of you feel bad when you watch him sit in the blind behaving.
