I hate Locust trees, and have a patch of them around the house at the farm. There is also a patch of them back by one of the crop fields.

Have decided that they are going to die. The patch back by the crop field will likely become a covey headquarters. But first they I am going to kill them so that they don't send up all those dang sucker from the roots.

I got started last weekend, and you can now see the first round of attacks.
Got a few holes poked in me, but I am getting even :)

This is just starting, kind of like the D-Day landing, as far as the time line goes.
Still got a long way to go.

You don't hug all trees equally? lol :p

One of the other managers is having good luck girdling them in the winter and treating the cut with Pathway or Tordon RTU. I may start doing some of that as well. The drought took some of them out. I wish it had gotten them all!

Those are all Locust trees, the one that has the color of a Russian Olive, has been mortally wounded.

I have been taking a 5/8" spade bit and drilling a hole in them at a downward angle and filling the hole with Tordon RTU. The 5/8 hole is just the right size for the tip of the Tordon RTU bottle.

They must have some shared roots because some of the smaller tree started to die when I had not attacked them yet.

Want to make sure that they are all dead including the roots.

Did I say that I hate locust trees
