Covey in the front yard!!

Looked out the front office window earlier today and seen some quail at the edge of the road and wanting to come across to the yard. Sure enough, 6 or 7 of them waddled across the road and started scratching around in the gravel driveway. I sure wished I'd filled up my bird feeders earlier like I'd planned, that way they'd of gotten some good sunflower and other treats. Maybe they'll be back tomorrow, the feeders are full now!!:cheers:

Very cool, I had a covey pass through our yard about 6 months ago (first covey I've seen or heard here in 15yrs but with 2 wild springers at the time I knew they wouldn't stick around.

My dog flushed a rooster from under an evergreen in the Days Inn parking lot yesterday PM.I thought that was pretty cool.

Great to hear JT,

By the way, for those of you going to PF/QF fest they have some excellent Quail Habitat seminars now that the Convention is in quail country and they have added QF to the convention.

I know you are going JT so I thought I would mention that in case you have not been to any annual PF fest before. they had some real good seminars on quail at last fest in Omaha.

Amazing what joy a 6 ounce bird can provide! Congratulations.

Aint that the truth!! I had a fairly up close and personal encounter with a Bald Eagle yesterday as well and I gotta say those little 6 oz. Bobbies gave me more of a thrill!!!:cheers::cheers:

JT,

Congratulations!! I hope to be gazing out my window someday and see the same thing. Given your efforts of late, this must be very rewarding.

So handy! I went to visit my cousin on his farm in NC KS this fall. Got out of the rig and about twenty quail flush from beneath a leafy fallen branch. Grabbed the gun, turned out the dog, and bagged two real quick.
