Changing an unconstitutional law in North Dakota

Well, not exactly but I’d like the pheasant season to be extended to the end of January in ND.
“In summary, to change a hunting law in ND, you need to propose the change, submit it to the NDGF, and engage with the legislative process, all while seeking support and building a strong case for your proposal.”
Before I submit this to game and fish do you think hunters would support it?
Does SD have a science based study that the extended season has increased populations? I bet it’s increased revenue.

After having it for a couple years in SD, you could argue it hasnt affected numbers any, as they were OK this year, even in SE SD (in spots). 15-20 inches of rain in a night during or right after hatch hit some places hard. The ration of 1:10 rooster to hen for breeding that Ive always read about kind of backs up the habitat theory for hen survival imo. I dont think a few extra roosters in January getting taken is going to affect much.
Last week, I went to what I assume is a hard hit public area within 20 miles of Sioux Falls and limited in less than an hour. I dont think much is forecasted to change the next couple weeks, except it’s going to be colder, so I feel like that opportunity could have happened mid January. I think hunters will support it. I have a feeling Noem had a lot of influence in the season extension, but Im just speculating.

Though it is nice to be able to hunt a time or two in January, I hunt both in SD and KS and just don't see enough hunters to effect the pheasant population. If the weather is really bad, as it can be in ND, most hunters aren't going to go anyway. I believe SD enacted their extension to keep up with Kansas and be able to attract out of state hunters for their business. It sounds like an arduous process, but because I live near ND and would like take advantage of January hunting, you've got my vote to proceed.

I am in favor of it. As an out of state hunter if I had the opportunity to hunt in January and the weather cooperated I would make a trip out.

I pheasant hunt any free time I get all season long, but I can't say I'd be in big favor of going through January. Perhaps give another week or say it closes the sunday closest to Jan. 10 (the years that Jan. 1 falls on a Sunday it can kind of stink closing that day since a lot of people have time off yet that week). Our Januaries are generally pretty inhospitable and I don't think the opportunity would be all that great. Let the birds rest, 3 months of chasing them is enough.

Could always try the climate change angle. Winter is coming later and later

I wish MN would alter/extend its season too. Starting it the second Saturday in October is ridiculous these days. Its 70 degrees and there's a sea of corn. September and October have essentially become an extension of summer here now.

I think it should more closely align with Iowa's season. Open the last Saturday in October and stay open a couple extra weeks into January.

The season extension through the end of January has the greatest affect on the lives of those consumed by pheasant hunting. A whole lot of folks are watching playoffs, ice fishing or just don't hate the pheasants enough to hunt them late season. Which is super glorious. Get the law changed. You'll thank me later. :)

North Dakota pheasant hunting in January, now that sounds like you need some thick bark to sign-up for that! That is not for women and children. Maybe the climate is changing enough to make it less inhospitable.
