Boots

One thing I've learned many times is that no boot is water proof when you step in water deeper than they are high.:D

I use a pair of Keen hiking boots in the early season and for all my field trials. Light weight and comfortable. You do get a few weeds in your boots at times but it's no big deal. Wearing longer pants helps. Or you can go to a short gaiter.

I don't like low boots in the pheasant fields, too many weed seeds in my socks. Give me a 9 or 10 inch boot every time.

I keep waiting for someone to chime in on Muck Uplander boots. The ones with the laces. They are pricey, but I'm either gonna go with Muck or Keen Glarus'. All my boots leak, so anything will be an improvement. The Havocs are also on my short list.

I have both the Keen Glarus and the Irish Setter Havoc Uplands. Both excellent boots but for hunting I'd take the Havoc's because they are higher. I use the Keen Glarus for field trials. I treat both pairs with Obenauf's Heavy Duty Leather Preservative.
