What did everyone put in for? How many of you Out of Staters put in and where are you planning on going?

My Tags:

Elk: Unit 2 Muzzleloader Bull

Deer: Pref Point then Unit 96 PLO buck

Moose: Rifle unit 7,8,191

Bear: Pref Point

Antelope: Pref Point

If I do not draw my elk, I will hunt My normal area 55 for bull and buy a late season cow for 54.

Good luck everyone!!

I applied for a plains deer buck tag, probably won't draw this year....need another point.
Second choice for deer a buck tag for the mountains.
I should have enough points to draw an elk tag this season....hope so!
Have 10 points for antelope and probably still won't draw a tag....I'm growing old waiting...it's worth the wait...when I finally draw I'll have a chance at a trophy buck.
With the cost of meat now, it would be great to fill a tag this fall.

I applied for a non-resident Elk Bull tag in unit 69 for the 3rd rifle season. I've got 4 preference points so about 100% assured of drawing a tag. I have a very good friend in Pueblo and have hunted this unit a lot.

Applied for all the usuals
PP for Elk- I'll have 5 after this year- do a leftover cow
PP for Deer- have 10 after this year- leftover buck unit 20 probably
Ram- I should draw my ram archery this year and I'm really looking forward that. I've got 3 pp with 7 weighted.
Moose- PP- maybe get that one when I'm 50 but from the numbers of those critters I've seen running around the woods I wouldn't be surprised if the points get lowered soon.
Speed Goat- I have 13 and I'm almost positive I'll get drawn for the Silver Spur Ranch RFW.

Holy Moly, 13 for goat?????? You can go any where!!! Who is the ranch manager up there now?????

Awesome Zeb !! Have you heard of Babcock Hole????

Wow!! Got lots of points!!!!! Where do you want to hunt out East and for Goat???

I put in for 201 , i have 10 pt but still will not get it this year [black powder]

201 is living in the 80"s !!!! But a magnum got pulled out last year 397 green 388 after drying!! I have 16 points and got a good chance at drawing unit 2 with the smoke pole!!! Not a 100% but what the heck!! I have had a couple buddys hunt it each of the last two years. There are still some big boys in 201!!! Had a person of great knowledge rate the units for big elk and he said 2, 10, 1, 201 and it could change in a few years.

With my main hunting-buddy (son) still sick & on chemo, he def won't be up to any billy-goat climbing the mtns after elk this yr - got real lucky & found a friend @ church with a sweet parcel of private land right here near Denver 5-10 mins from the house - looks like we might get a crack at one of those big "Untouchable" front-range bruiser bulls after all, IF we can just draw a coveted archery tag for the area...2nd choice = "private land only" cow tag in the same unit good for 6 months (Sept 1st thru Jan 31st), should be a slam dunk fallback both draw & freezer wise - and I can jump out for a morning hunt here or aft hunt there over a long period of time @ my leisure be4 or after work!

We put in for matching deer tags in the same area so we can pop one of those nice "Untouchable" monster-mulie bucks if he just so happens by while we're hunting elk...Also put in for speedgoat in unit 143, 144, 145 (Nat'l Grasslands) - don't have nearly as much hope on the draw for that one, but ya never know & building up my pref points if not.

Since they don't really give a hoot about horns & are meat-hunters plain-&-simple - put my younger son & his buddy in for cow elk, doe deer & doe antelope on a 'Ranching For Wildlife' population-reduction hunt (all on the same ranch during the same week - maybe they'll get drawn for at least one or if extremely lucky all 3 on the same week)...

I am now like a little kid in the candy store or lotto tkt holder waiting on the results - but I must say, also a little tired & miffed at all the intricate research & hoops required to pull off a big-game hunt in CO - I much prefer the ease of simply buying an OTC license for phez-hunting & roaming wherever I want throughout the season!

Awesome Zeb !! Have you heard of Babcock Hole????

I have not heard of Babcock Hole but I did some search on the web and it appears it's a ridge a little SE of Wetmore. So what' s scoop on the Babcock Hole?

I hunt in the San Isabel National Forest south of McKenzie Junction. I'm good friends with the guy that owns the Mountain Meadows Ranch which is in a Ranching for Wildlife unit. Use to hunt the Mountain Meadows RFW before the DOW limited it to residents only. Now I stay at the ranch and hunt the national forest around the ranch.

Yeah, it's about time to blow these points (almost certain we'll both draw), there's some big bucks up there, great country, and I'll get to hunt it with my Dad who loves goat hunting and anything else that could potentially call for long range shots!

I've always loved North Park but never hunted in it and this looks like a great place to do it. Aside from some Rawah and Zirkel elk hunts, some floats down the N. Platte, I haven't had the chance to mess around too much in that area. I'll plan on checking out the Encampment River for some fishing too. :)

Wow!! Checked out the photo's of the speed goats and you better have camera ready and share your hunt!!!! I hunted the Hayden area after years of trying and scored a nice buck scoring 77 bc before the sun came up. Of course I put him to bed the night before!!! Good luck!!!! Antelope is a all time favorite for me, just can't get the tags like I used too!!!!!

I've only hunted a ranching for wildlife tag one other time and it was just for a gobbler down at the Twin Peaks Ranch. It was a quality time without any frustrating details or restictions and I'd hope that this experience follows suit. If I draw it I'll definitley go up and introduce myself during the summer and scout it. But even more exiting to me this fall is the prospect of a full-curler with a bow. :)

I like mass !!!!!! And those goats up there have mass!!!!!! Be picky!!!! Mass will overcome length any day in the Antelope world !!! I would love to draw Moose, but with this system it will be tough. I have had a few picked out for years, they will die from old age before I draw!!! No one has more points then me, but I always get out drawn by people with 3 and 1 or 3 and 2 !!!! Think I got 3 and 10 !!!!

i hope you draw a nice elk tag i sure do like elk burger LOL

You probably ate all that up already didn't you?? Well if I draw or not, I will get a few tags to fill the freezer again!!!!! Hope you have some more shine to trade!!!!!!LOL:cheers:

End of an era, first time in a long time I will not be hunting Mulies in WY.:(
But I have applied for the MT Big Game Combo and will be successful in the draw. 1200 left over tags, did not sell out.
Anybody want to hunt Montana? Leftover licenses will be available first come on April 15th.
Best deer/elk license, general state wide plus gamebirds.:)

If I wasn't already going elk hunting in Colorado I might take you up on that combo hunt.

Say, mnmt, why aren't you attending our UPH Hunt in Granite Falls this Saturday?
