Best Roto Molded Kennel

I ended up purchasing a Cabelas Gun Dog intermediate kennel after I looked at Gunner, RuffLand and Dakota. The intermediate is tall enough for my GSP and it has a 5 star crash rating. The key lock on the door is a joke but the door is solid and the latch seems to work well. If fits behind the seats of my F-150 and Ram 1500 but it also comes with tie down straps for carrying it in the back of the truck which I will never do. It is actually made from thicker material than my RuffLand intermediate kennel. Now I’m looking for a good kennel pad.
I have a momarsh cot that fits in the Cabela's intermediate perfectly. If your dog is wet, it drains the water away and keeps the dog out of the water as well. You can also use it for place training. I also had an insulated pad from fleet farm that fit in perfectly as well, but the dog chewed it up when she was a puppy and I never replaced it. I believe it was made by arctic shield. It was dark green in color.

Curious how this kennel has treated you (and your pup) since you have had some time running it? I am currently deciding between the cabelas gun dog and the dakota. How big is your gsp? I have a gsp and am not sure between a large and intermediate.

My griff is 50 lbs and I use a momarsh cot in the kennel and she fits in there perfectly. The Cabelas kennel tapers from the bottom to the top which is essential for getting the kennel in the back of my truck behind the passenger seat. I would definitely buy the kennel again. I believe Cabelas came out with a bigger size kennel this last year. If you live close to a Bass Pro or Cabelas, they have them on display...you could take your dog in and try them out.

My GSP is 60 pounds and she fits fine! I have that Momarsh suspension bed in there as well. I like it fine. My dog is comfortable and warm in the cab. I have it behind my seat in my F-150 Dog likes it but she would rather be in the front seat beside me but that’s not always an option!😊
I’ve heard reports the door rattles but that hasn’t been an issue with mine, maybe they fixed that.
It’s bigger than a Ruffland intermediate and it’s built just as well or better plus it comes with tie down straps and a locking rod. I’m tall but it fits behind my seat with the seat all of the way back. I’d buy again if I needed one that big again.
