Bad Timing for My Dog to come up lame

So sorry to hear that George. Give Elle an extra scratch behind the ears for me tonight.

Having known and hunted with that sweet little dog-

I'm so sad to hear that-

I know from experience--no one can come up with any thing to say to make it better--or ease the pain--but God bless

Going to go pet my own old dog--now-

George,

Words can't express how sorry I am at hearing this horrible news..............

She is a CHAMPION, a "One in a Thousand" dog ...............

Sending Thoughts and Prayers to you, your family and Elle. May God Bless.

Reading this as I sit here waiting for the sun to come up on another opening morning. I am so sorry to hear this report after the last vet visit. You guys will be in my thoughts as I hit the field this morning.

Hi George,

So sorry to hear about Elle - she was a great dog an companion to you. You can celebrate the good times you had with her; perhaps there is another great dog for you in the future.

Best wishes,

Jon

Thanks guys for your kind words and thoughts. It's been a tough week. Not sure how long my gal will be with us but obviously the end isn't too far down the road.

At 70 years of age I was hoping Elle and I would kind of ride off into the hunting sunset together. But now I'm thinking about another dog. More likely a started dog. In an hour I'm heading to Brookings to look at a young female that a trainer from Nebraska has up here. There is also a female in Arizona that I'm waiting for the breeder (whom I know) to decide if she is going to sell her or not. I had an opportunity in June to pick up a 1 1/2 year old female that was sired by the same dog as Elle. I passed at the time. Sure wish that timing would have been different. Looks like some of these young started Brittanys are bringing more money than I expected. I thought about $2K but it looks closer to $3K.
