I live in MN and hunt in MN and SD. MN pheasant hunting can be trying especially early. Last December was cold and snowy, even worse than what we are having right now. But in western MN public areas that had thick cover and especially if it had some sort of standing food plot, the birds were there. My GSP and I had a good couple of days and came out with 3 roosters and unfortunately a couple lost birds in extremely thick cattails. I have to put a neoprene vest on my dog in that kind of weather to keep him warm. I plan to do this again this year, but it may be after Dec 20 which is my daughter's wedding since I have already been to SD, NM, and CO for big game this year, and going back to SD again for deer, so I have to keep from getting in the dog house at home.
