I didnt even get out one time. I resigned from my job in october and start a new job end of January so I figured i would get plenty of time in this year. Not so...i went to the DR's at the beginning of November and they found that I had a tear in my lower intestine. They went in and fixed it and everything was cool. until the next day when i filled the tub with blood as apparently an artery was cut during surgery and didnt show until the next day. I was rushed back to the hospital, put in for surgery, and fixed back up. I lost a lot of blood and was bed ridden for 10 days, and am just now starting to get out and walk around our yard. With everything that happened I am out of commission for 2 whole months. :( No pheasant hunting for me this year.... will someone shoot a bird and give it to me? lol

sad in littleton

That sucks.......Its a bad year to miss the pheasants are everywhere.:cheers:

then shoot one for me..:( lol

I am thankful as I could have bled out and died. At least I will get to hunt next year and I am still praying and hoping I can get in 1 day this year. *crosses fingers*

That's terrible news, but also great news you're still alive. The birds will still be there waiting for you next year.

You said it right.....Be thankful your alive. That's some nasty stuff you went though there.

Remember, spring and summer will fly by and before you know it the leaves will be changeing and the 2011 pheasant season will be upon you.

Hang in there my and heal up my friend:) -1pheas4

That's a really bum deal, I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of that, and I hope your recovery is speedy. Keep walkin' and active, from personal experience it really helps the recovery process!

The good news is that the husband and I aren't very far from you...we live in Highlands Ranch and we will be out there again on the 21st and 22nd of December....we would be more than happy to provide you with a rooster!

The bad news is, this is our first year out there, and so far we suck at this pheasant hunting:rolleyes:! I've been reading everything out there to try to increase our odds, but maybe having you as an incentive will help us out, God knows we need all the help we can get!

Get better quick and if we get lucky, I'll be contacting you!

Best of luck Boosted on terrorizing the birds for 2/3 of January. You should be able to do plenty of damage in 3 weeks. All my best! We'll save one for you!

Hang in there . . . I said a prayer for ya . . .

Merry Christmas Joe,

Glad to hear that the doc says your 60%. I'll be hoping that he gives you the go ahead to get a little ditch chicken hunting in this season.

I wish I had better news for you as far as our pheasant hunt, but we came up with nothin' once again. First day in Yuma and we flushed about 12 total, 2 roosters. Husband got a shot on one rooster on our last field at about 4:30, but he got such a case of the "Holy S$@t, it's a rooster, and it's close enough to shoot at" that he took the shot where the bird was, instead of where it was goin'. We've been married 14 years, and he has never apologized so many times....hmmmmm??? Ijust wish one would flush in front of me, none of the 12 flushed anywhere near me....I'm starting to have a little bit of a complex.

Second day (Phillips County), saw 4, 1 rooster, way the heck out there. But the joke was the 2 roosters that hung out in the middle of the road in front of the truck between fields 1 and 2. It was a real smack in the face.....I laughed about that for the rest of the day. Oh, and did I mention the 3 in the ditch 1 section away from the WIA....WTH. I guess it's nice to know that they are out there, and it seems that we are getting better at it, but boy we have been puttin' some miles in....and I'm still lovin' every minute of it!!!!!!

Take really good care of yourself and enjoy the holidays. I'm sorry we couldn't get you that Christmas pheasant, but we gave it a hell of a try!

Happy Holidays,

Misty
