2023 Season Pictures of Birds, Guns And Dogs

Hey all, had a good day. Saw a lot of birds, but were they ever spooky! Sloppy out there. The 8" of snow we got last week is melting and not drying out.

Addie did very well! Great points and retrieves.

Used my 12b Purdey today

First ever solo limit for rosey, last year totally gun shy. Montana gun dog co. Solved her gunshyness! I am one happy guy! She has a career. 2 full retrieves, and many points .

That's a lot of gun! Congrats! Just curious , are you running your dog in a vest for protection or more so you can see her? I picked up a thin blaze orange vest for my little and dark gsp , she aint easy to see in the weeds or deep woods.

Hi, thanks for the kind words!

The vest is for protection and also for keeping track of her.

Both Raina and Addie like to bust brush, they're not afraid to get into the thick stuff. Trying to avoid injuries, which they have gotten over the years.

Last week SD.

Only 3-man limit in the 4 days we hunted - some bad shooting, 29 total. Our average age was 70.

Did not see as many birds as I expected/ hoped to see. Weather was on the warm side.

Brits, Kate, Rocky, Snowy and Reece, (2 are 10 years old) did awesome early but had 2 on IR the last day.

I thought the cover was lighter than usual this time of year.

Hope to get back one more time.
