Yesterday my friend and I were on our final walk of the day, We dumped a bird and his dog Buck crossed the threshold and made his first retrieve. With one bird to go we dumped a rooster that landed in the creek. I peered through the cattails thinking his dog was going to make his 2nd retrieve and was surprised to see my little pup in the water and bringing it back. We are two proud Lab owners today. We scratched out a limit to top it off.

The first wild bird retrieve is so cool. I'm glad you got to see it!

Way to go Buck and Molly! I told Willy it would come. Those are two fine bird dogs you guys have.

Pups

How old is the pup? very cool!

My pup is 11 months going on 6th months, Buck is just a little over a year. My older dog we believe was hogging the retrieves so with her on the sidelines the youngsters came through, they did an excellent job of putting birds up in the air as well.

I know your joy, my Britt made her first rooster retrieve from land and water this past week in SD.
