So the wife says you haven’t bought a gun in a while. So I have to fix that and not disappoint her. I was thinking of getting a 16 O/U or maybe a sxs. Why, because there’s only 12s and 20s in the safe. Anything I get will be a working gun, it will get scratches and dents because well I fall while chasing pheasants. I wouldn’t even mind a used one. Anything to stay away from? Suggestions? I have a couple Berettas that I like but am open to whatever.

Went to Rizzini Aurum this year with 29” barrels. Really like the gun a lot. Sold a Browning Feather Lightning in 16. Liked it but I hate browning safeties. If beretta ever made a 16 that is what I would have went as I love my B gun O/U’s. Looked hard at many others but dimensions on Rizzini matched what I needed.

Enjoy the search.

A FAIR Iside can be had in 16, several different trim and trigger options from basic to knockout.

I'm really thinking hard on the other Rizzini, a 550 or 552 in 16 though. I'd have to get permission from the Warden though.

Might as well throw in an early Ithaca 37, kind of a cheap appetizer as you prepare for the main course...(have had one for 15 years, really like it)

Or a Model 12.... (I just picked one up this year, shot some roosters with it)

A few years ago I went down that road. The browning 16g white lightning is what I found fit me best. I shoot it well and i don't feel it limits my range on roosters. It is an O/U and I love it.
I've had a Browning 16 ga White Lighting for roughly 20 years. It's been a great gun. Mine has a 26" barrel in weighs in right at 7 lbs.

Been pheasant hunting with a Dickinson Estate 28" 16 ga for about 10 years now. It's for sure my goto gun except when its cold enough I have to wear gloves too bulky to use the double triggers. 1 1/8 oz home loaded 5s@1250-1270fps sure gets the job done.

I have a B Rizzini in 16 that fits and feels really good. Plenty of knock down power. If I were to get another it would be a used model. I picked up a new one a while back and they have changed the stock somewhat. The one I own now is about 15 years old and has a nice delicate wrist compared to the new ones and the POW grip feels more like a 20 than the new one which feels like a 12.
