12 ga. or 20 ga for pheasant?

16. Haven't used a 12 gauge on birds for years. If I chose one of the 2 it would be the 20 and good retriever.

No it's not hard to beat a 12. A 16 is a bird killing machine. Only time I shoot a 12 is goose hunting. Also use a 20 on pheasant and ducks. Quail get the hammer from a 28.

You loose more birds with a 20, unless you shoot 3 inch lead.

I shoot a 20, but I don’t think the size gun matters because they don’t make one big enough to miss them dead

Make Mine a light weight 20 Ga with 3 inch mag capabilities, mainly use an Ounce of #5 shot but the 3 inch shell with 1 1/4 #5 come in handy when birds get a bit wild .
