LOL. This thread is great. People arguing about a 500 or 1000 bird flush day. Where I'm at in Wisconsin a 2 or 3 bird flush day is a good day. Leave your adding machine in the truck and just enjoy the day in the field watching your pup work.![]()
In average years in South Dakota it's common and almost expected to see 1,000 bird flushes. That's why South Dakota is the best.
About 4 or 5 years ago in SW Kansas we witnessed 3-4 hundred birds fly out of some corn and go to roost in the CRP field which we hunt. So, the next evening we decided to lay in the weeds and try to pass shoot them as they flew over top of us. Think we might have shot one, missed quite a few, but had a ton of fun trying to do it. Anyone ever tried that?
