1000 Bird Sighting

Happy to report I have a place where we have confirmed the sighting of 1000 pheasants in a group recently.

I will also be traveling the state getting video from 7 UGUIDE pheasant camps that do not currently have video on their webpage.

The schedule is 3 camps the first weekend and 4 the second.

Just did GoPro Familiarization 101 today so should have both GoPro and handheld camcorder footage.

Essentially following 7 separate groups of UGUIDE hunters around at 7 different places.

Should get a pretty good idea of what is out there although crop harvest has all but halted with this wet weather pattern recently.

Looks wonderful for the opener.

Not a 1000 bird sighting but I was just entertained by 3 full size roosters in my front yard giving one of the barn cats a real work over--they chased him all over the yard--no contest. Really got my blood pumping--two days guys two days:D

Geez, don't say that Safari will get mad.

Chris just make sure you send 500 of those to pheasant camp for the 4th week-----Chip knows I can't hit them but the kids will have fun

I'm impressed. I have tried counting in those pens before, it is impossible to get close enough to count. The birds go crazy. That guy must be some kind of Savant.:D

I don't believe them either. A little hype here? On my way to our place in SD as we speak. Will let you know if we see half of that number!

I don't think you will see those numbers unless you have the diversity on your land like uguide has. I feel the guys that will see big numbers and harvest limits will be on properties more managed for the birds this season. The guys hunting farms, crops, draws and small junks of grass will struggle.
First couple weeks are going to be specially hard with the amount of crops standing and won't be a good gauge of what is truly out their.
On one of my fowl forums, a good amount of the guys did pretty well last weekend and most were surprised on number of birds. Of course, a couple didn't see much, but also said the areas they hunted were surrounded by standing beans and corn.
Wish you all luck. It will be a few weeks yet till we come.

That had to have been quite the sight!! Cats can be real hard on birds but this guy's money would have been on Mr. Rooster for sure!

Good luck to all the residents this weekend. Looking forward to hearing some good stories and adventures.
