A South Dakotan Calls the Glenn Beck Radio Program

He called in yesterday Friday the 18th. He was slamming CRP. He said a farm north of him recently signed up for CRP on a half section and they were being paid $170.00/acre. Is this true? It sounded high to me, but I don't know for sure. Just asking.

Photo of deer in our yard

When the Savage 10-ML speaks, the deer listen. Ohio's muzzleloader season ended Tuesday. The ML 10 is extremely accurate with 100 grains of T7 and Precision Rifle's QT bullets. Supposedly Harvester Muzzleloading makes a crushed rib sabot that shoots Hornady's Lever Revolution bullets with sub 1"...

Badgers, bad karma, and "The Big House."

Wisconsin (best team in the big ten IMO) put up 83 points against Indiana. Will that catch up to them? Seems like teams that score big one week have trouble putting it together the next week. 83 points is shameful. Bad karma. Can Rich Rod put together any kind of defense? Michigan has plenty of...

    Nice weather for opener

My niece's husband and I kicked up around 10 cock birds and ended up with 3 roosters all from public ground. The hot weather this summer created great cover. It's very thick. The hens should carry over this winter a lot better than in the past. We should have more public hunting. Why not sell a...

Finally, cool enough to dove hunt.

Saturday dove hunt with my old dog Raven (11.5 years old). Anyone else been out? I shot very well first few birds and then the wheels fell off. I find the more doves I shoot the better pheasant shot I become. Happy hunting.

    Get Real

Here's a photo from Ohio's pheasant opener. GG and Pointdexter are taking it easy after a hard afternoon hunt. Ohio has a 2 bird limit. These are wild birds shot on public land. I hunted with my niece's husband and he killed a pair himself. I get a kick out of people posting and whining about...

    Yellow WIA signs

I hunted the Webster area last year and was wondering if the yellow WIA signs were different from the normal white ones. They seemed to be around standing corn? The legend from the 2008 Atlas showed a blue or purple border around WIAs that could not be hunted while the crop was still standing...
