No experience with Henry shotguns but the singles I’ve used have always been uncocked until the bird flies or in the case of waterfowl, cocked when ready to shoot.

I picked up a Savage Stevens 94 in 12 ga. recently. It was missing a couple parts but I had some pieces laying around that I was able to use. I plan on using it to get some roosters in the fall.

You can Google it if you want. The warmest day that month had a high of 32 degrees. That was in Omaha. Possibly it was 25 days not getting above freezing. I can tell you that on the acreage where I lived, the temps are consistently 7 degrees colder than the reading in Omaha.

Southwest Iowa. It was a freak winter that came early that year.

December ‘83, we didn’t have a thermometer with us but we went 25 days straight not getting above Zero and temps were in the -20s at night. Coffee from the thermos would freeze over in just a few minutes and we left the car running when we hunted in case it didn’t want to start up again.

I carry a pair of diagonal cutters. Haven’t needed them yet. A Leatherman tool would work too.

I normally prepare for pheasant season by shooting 4 or 5 rounds of trap or sporting clays with my Montefeltro. Recoil is not a problem. I use a 12ga.

Nothing wrong with looking. My problem is that I want to try all the guns so I keep buying. I’ve been overdoing it this month.

I’m surprised anyone still makes a 16. Nothing at all against it, I’m amazed there would be enough demand to warrant the offering. Pretty nice for the 16ga lovers though.

I’ve gotten the “itch” too because of this thread! I want a 20ga Montefeltro and I never use a 20.

Seems common for people to reshape the grip on those Sweet 16s. You’ll have to let us know what you think when you get it.
