    Western Nebraska Report

I was sick and unable to hunt Nebraska this opener (first time since 1981). My sons and a bunch of their buddies (8 guys and 6 good dogs) hunted SW Nebraska opener and managed 1 rooster saturday and a handful Sunday. Worst hunting I can ever recall. Nebraska is a waste of time, little crp...

    Any reports from SW Nebraska??

Any reports from SW Nebraska? Curious how the cover is looking and if there was a decent hatch? Mail carrier reports didn't look too optimistic. Thanks in Advance.

    SW Nebraska opener

Have to agree Nebraska is not worth the license fee-time, worst season I can remember since 1981 (except for maybe 1985 when a blizzard killed 95% of the birds). CRP is getting taken out of the program, what's left is hayed-grazed, hoping CRP will make a comback under the current administration???

    Rescue Dog Question

Get a German wirehair, the poodle blood in them makes for no shedding. Awesome dogs, great pointers, like the water, can take cold, burrs don't stick to their fur....

    Rooster and Hen ratios?

Nebraska DOW guys always told me 10:1 is the ideal ratio of hens to roosters (moral of the story if there are alot of birds, shoot the roosters!)

Is Remington back in production? When can orders be placed?

I have heard Remington is back operating? Any ideas when they will be accepting orders?

Have you ever seen a pheasant do this?

Pretty common, I have seen them fly 1/4 mile, start flying straight up them crash and burn, if you mark the line well you can find them, I have had many good pointing dogs step right over a dead dive bomber, labs will usually find them. Key point, mark the line, spot and walk straight to it.

    SW Nebraska

Birdhunter6, Your assessment is dead on. I have hunted Nebraska for 40 years and this year is very disappointing, appears Nebraska DOW over stated the bird counts? The CRP haying won't help matters unless they get a ton of moisture this winter and spring. Hoping for a better 2021.

Looking for a left hand Pheasant gun

My sons are both southpaws (as is my brother) and they all shoot SBK left handed automatics. SBK is based out of Omaha, the owner bought out all the patents-inventory of SBK, these guns are made in Turkey and they are light, shoot very well. I personally shoot the right hand version with the...

Looking for a barrel set for a beretta BL3

Anyone have a extra barrel set for a legacy Beretta BL3? I have had this gun for 40 years and the barrel is separating between the under and lower barrels. Probably not feasible to get it soldered-repaired? Always shot it well for pheasants and ducks so hoping to keep it servicable. thanks

    NE Opener.

hunted SW nebraska opener too. Probably the lowest bird population I have seen for many, many years? Most the guys we talked to had very poor success, lots of crp had been hayed due to the dry conditions (guess NE always haying in dry conditons?) They need alot of snow and rain to get the...
