Post Turkey hunt pics and story

Sooty Thanks for sharing the hunt. Great fun for sure.
Congrats on a fine Tom.

The area I'm in MN has it's first ever Turkey season. 5 permits in an area approx 15 miles X 15.

I had about 90 Winter on the ranch, their very wild, would feed early and late out in the fields where I feed cattle.

One of the lucky permit holders asked permission to bow hunt. Season opens I think? April 15th. He's gonna have a great time. Even though many have dispersed far and wide, there's still going to be plenty.:)

MN, Thats good to here, sounds like a good start on getting turkey's populated in your area.

Tom Daily Double

Scored a tom in unit 1 about 11 a.m. Went over to unit 3 and filled my second tag at about 6:30 p.m. Great turkey opener. First morning set up didn't work out so we scouted and tried to set up on two toms and then a small group several times. Finally the small group neared some land we had permission to go on. We hurried into place, set the decoys, retreated into the trees and started calling. In the evening I went to a cousin's alfalfa field in unit 3. Two tom's were about two or three hundred yards down range in the alfalfa. I advanced along a tree line, set up the decoys in the alfalfa, and started calling. They marched right in.
