How many of you use the Pet mate Pet Porter. They are the best darn reasonable kennel out there. They have the heavy duty plastic and doors. I talked to pet mate because I was not able to find one. And found out they quit making them. They did go to the porter 2 for a while, but I like the flat top porter so you can set stuff on them. I managed to find 3 in a store here and snapped all 3 up. I wrote them telling them why I loved the kennel so much, and how many people I know that use that one. I also let them know I thought they were making a big mistake and should bring them back. I never got an explanation why. I hope they reconsider.
 
(My puppy was born sunday, so pumped!)

I've been doing a lot of research on kennels and when it comes to plastic ones Petmate's seem to be the best buy. However, there isn't enough info out there to help me determine which of the different models to get. I've seen the Pet Porter 2 @ Scheels and the Vari Kennel (deluxe, super deluxe, super whammo duper deluxe, etc.) online but they don't really compare them to each other. Anyone know the differences?

I've got 2 Pet Porters in the back of my Expedition. Looks like they have gone to the Pet Porter 2 and raised the price.

I would get which ever one you can get the best deal on. The Pet Porters FC and I have were priced on the lower end and are very good kennels. If you do some searching on the web you can probably come up with a good buy. Just make sure you get the proper size for your dog. I have Brittanys and the Intermediate size is perfect. 32"L x 23"W x 24"H

Ha. Got it! I posted in the intro section with a link to the parents of my new pup.
 
A few months ago, I ordered what I thought was a large Pet Porter. It turned out to be a Pet Porter 2, which is a little bigger than the original Pet Porter. The Pet Porter 2 was a little too big for my large Mud River kennel cover so I shipped it back. I ended up with a Marchioro Clipper 6. The large Mud River kennel cover fits it like a glove.
 
who needs pet porter!! my dog gets the back seat of my pickup truck.

in the house at night, my GSP goes into a portable folding Pet Mate crate, then outside shes got a 10x10 kennel with a one bed room with a porch insulated dog house.

and please dont ask what color the dog house it is.. im embarrassed as it is.
 
I guess I'm good now, I have 6 of them, but I wanted to buy 2-3 more just to have for the future. The Porter 2 is OK but the plastic seems flimsy like other cheap brands and the top is not as handy for stuff to sit. Kame apart had them for 67$ for the large as Zeb said, but I called every Kmart in MN, some in ND and IA and all gone. some kame aparts were still selling the 2 for 67$

One in IA said a guy called a 1/2 hr before me for the same thing. Check your local Kame apart store for the last of the good ones.

well if you can get along with my dog and respect her space... then id say free if you clean up the poop in the kennel on a weekly basis...



i do have to be honest.. this house cost more than the houses you can buy... however, mine was insulated and i made it much bigger than the blue print knowing my dog was going to be bigger than a brittany. I built it roughly 4-6 more inches bigger.

That is pretty nice birdman! What are the dimensions on that? I've been thinking about building a house for my pup soon too.
