Swing and a miss
It is good to hear from other hunters that they had limited success in the Norton. I got 3 on the opener and the last two were at sunset. I had to work real hard to get 1 the second day. The last couple of years has not been all that great. The best numbers that I saw was 13 years ago. When you kicked birds all day long, and the dog and I were real green.
I finished up in Burlington and hunted a half day on CRP with some friends we kicked more then I have the previous days. I keep going back for sentimental reasons, but I am questioning driving the extra hours, and gas. I am a much smarter hunter now and have a ferrari of a dog. The local game warden kept saying there were alot of birds, but compared to what?
Don't get me wrong, I love the area, but it is getting harder, maybe time to scout out new areas........
