All in all a pretty good opener. I took my wife and her girl friend out. This was her girl friends first duck hunt. She did well. I think she's hooked. We left home about 7:30Am and season opened at 9:00AM. We ended the day at 2:00PM with 9 Ringbills and one Wood Duck.

Nice mallard. Good to see the ladies had fun.

Whats the limit in WS for woodies? We can only take two per day.
Nice looking Pup.

I did not make it out on Sat. but Sunday I packed up a few decoys and my sinus infection and headed out. I have never seen so many wood ducks it was a ton of fun. One shot two ducks done. I tried to stick it for a Teal but my coughing got the better of me.

The water is really high on the lake. The trail thru. the tree line I mowed a few weeks earlier to the beach and twenty feet to the waters edge. Now the ducks land in the lawn.:)

Thanks everybody, Hyde..Nice Chessie...I have some Chessies. Here's the two we was using this weekend. Steiger(the male) and Teal(the female). Them woodies are good eating

Goldeneye, you take care of the cold. Your like me, just can't stay out of the field and marsh. Congrats on baging some woodies.

I'm paying for my loves but I can rest when the snow flies. If I live that long..Ya I'm not up to go hunting at 3:30AM. I'm one hurting, fatigued son of a gun. Good luck everybody..be safe

Hey goldeneye thanks for the compliment, in Wisconsin you are allowed three per person it was a fun two days

Onpoint nice looking chessies, looks like you guys had just as much fun as we did

You could call him "Jowls". I have one pic of the Puds with some ducks but will have to down size it. When my grandson comes out, I'll drop the gun and pick up the camera. Too mnay ducks out here. They flew for four hours Sunday, even tho a very nice day and no one else moving them around in my area.

Somedays it's good to work nights.. I was able to get a couple more this morning.

Everytime I see your picture giving your dog bunny ears. I think your dog is going to see that someday then you will be picking up your own ducks:D

OnPoint
Get well. I always look forward to your pictures of wildlife and food

Buck
Can OnPoint ,Hyde and myself come over and after a duck hunt show you how to down size that picture:rolleyes:

Good job Goldeneye...LOL @ the Buck comment

Went 3 out of four days for a few hours and I'm in so much pain I think I'm going to die. Tough stuff this junk I have. The wife and I went for a while yesterday. Got a limit of Woodies and one hen Mallard. It's 4:08 and I been up since 3:20AM. I have the want in my head so bad but the body says not a chance. I don't think I'll be going again this week, maybe for the season the way I feel. Tough to try and keep going with no sleep too. Too much pain to sleep..GGrrrr!!

Yeah, it looks like theres an extra "woody" in the picture!

Here's Wis daily bag limits

http://www.dnr.state.wi.us/org/land/wildlife/hunt/seasdate.htm

Bag: Daily bag of six ducks, not to include more than four mallards of which only one may be a hen, three wood ducks, one black duck, two redheads, two scaup, two pintails, and one canvasback. In addition, five mergansers to include not more than two hooded mergansers. (For species of duck not listed, such as teal and ring-necks, the combined total with all other species may not exceed six ducks). Coot daily bag is 15.

They do NOT have a extra Wood Duck!!

It was a joke! I was refering to the dogs red rocket! Maybe I should have drawn an arrow to it. As bill Engvall would say, "here's your sign."

Anyhow, nice shooting; I wish we had ducks like that down here right now.

You guys are killing me with all these nice duck/goose pics. Here in Arkansas we have no phez., grouse, and very few quail so waterfowl is my big deal.

Our regular season does not open for another month+ and I can hardly wait!

Nice job,
BobM

Chad.
I like Onpoint read your post wrong now that you explained yourself that's damm funny.

It's OK Goldeneye....a poster or two earlier in the thread touched on that they thought he had too many Wood Ducks. I just read his post quick and thought he was referring to him having too many ducks. See, I'm not a dog dick watcher and it flew right over my head..:D....LOL
