Danged feet.

I've been trying to get in shape for a while. Working out, walking. Lost some weight and feeling pretty good. My problem is, no matter what boots I wear, my feet hurt after about 5 miles. What's the best insoles? I remember reading a thread about it but can't find it.
 
Remember "round" is a shape too. I use the Dr Scholls plantar facitus insoles in all my shoes. Since using in all my shoes, my foot issues have stopped....except for the numbness in my toes I have been experiencing for about a decade now.

Yeah, I have that shape down pat.
 
Interesting post! After barely making it thru last season with foot pain was feeling pretty good this summer but ended breaking a few toes in July and the foot pain started all over again. VA gave me a couple sets of inserts and it has made a world of difference.
 
Just a suggestion, not saying anyone has to go buy big money running shoes, but if you have a store in your area that specializes in running shoes....these are not big box or chain stores.... go and get measured/fitted.
They also sell insoles if they can match your fitting. My wife does alot of running events that include pavement and trails.....she has different insoles with different shoes for each.
I did it and got a pair for my hiking boots, world of difference. My 2 pairs of hunting boots are Danner Vitals, which really fit well and don't fatigue my feet, arches, or heel.....so I don't insoles them.
 
I've tried different insoles over the years and I haven't found any that I like, so I normally just use the cheap factory insoles. Most are too thick and end up changing the fit and taking up too much room in the foot box for me. But I keep trying. I've started breaking in a new pair of Lowa Tibet hiking boots and I've put in insoles from PowerStep. Too soon to know whether they are going to work or not.

This post has me thinking. Several years ago I coached HS football. The head coach told the players at the beginning of the season to always wear 2 pair of socks. His theory was that 2 pair of socks allowed them to slide past each other as one moved to help eliminate callouses and sore spots.

I hunt with LL Bean's Maine Hunting Shoes. Two pair socks are recommended for these. I always wear two pair of wool socks and the orthotics I cited in an earlier post.
