Absolutely Robert. I hear there are bunches. I'll probably be heading that way this fall for an extended hunt instead of Montana. Half the driving distance, and two more species of birds to hunt. And a cheap license.
Get a Llewellen Setter, they are gorgeous.

"BUNCHES" Chukar? Quail? Idaho? Oregon? Wondering where you herd this? PF"s TV show?

Chukar, quail, and a few Huns from what I understand. Since a covey is technically a "bunch" I guess if you could move two covies that would be "bunches".:cheers:

Unfortunately chukar have been at an all time low in the Owyhee's for the last 3 years. The few that are left are jumping up a 100 yds from any "big running dog" Unless you and your dog have had a lot of experience huntin Chukar . I would recommend you use your Springer and do spot en stock.

Well, a little west and you're in Oregon and a little south and you're in Nevada. Add the chance of a few quail and maybe a hun or two in any of the those areas and I'm game for any of them.

As for the panties, we can keep a stick handy to un jam them if need be.:cheers:

Honestly I just like to be in new country with the pups with a decent chance of seeing, and hopefully shooting, a few birds.
 
It's been a few years, but I had some pretty good hunting around Mountain Home. I agree Robert. I just want to learn some new country. I'm intrigued about the California quali there. We could most likely, with luck, find Phez, quail, and Huns in the same area. Skip the Phez and find quail, huns, and Chukar in the same area. Just lots of looking at maps, and lots of walking is all I know.
Plus we could even go into Boise and see a football game at the Blue Turf
 
I have a buddy who grew up in Nampa who could probably give me some good info on the area.

My male is from Willowcreek Kennels; he is out of Featherfoots Jet Stream and Cedarwood's Ace's High and of course My little female is "Prairietrouts"; "O" litter!
Missed you in Idaho this year! Chris and I got in a couple of good days hunting.

I vote for a French Brittany, and I'd like to stow away for the quail portion of you guy's hunt, the Chukar........well I got one when I lived in WA. We could work in a couple days over here for a Western upland hunt.
