your dog backing

I haven't been running Indy (4.5 month old ) with Ace, to make sure that Indy was running and hunting birds on his own. Well tonight I took them out together. After an early bird contact and about a mile walk, I watered Indy and he took off, and while I was watering Ace, I got a beep on Indy's Garmin, 167 yards on point.

So Ace and I headed that way. I came around a bend and found this, Ace backing Indy who was still standing his bird. I walked in after the cell phone pic and flushed a pheasant. The future looks bright

You know that Indy is pointing the last pheasant in the state right??? :)

Happy Birthday Indy- looking good

sort of funny picture- I chuckled as I got closer and closer- Choc started to lean like he wanted to see- his sister had the bird- but I think he wanted to see in front of his mom

Its amazing that pheasants can hide in grass that short. But you see it pretty often. Nice pic Shadow.

thanks- not as good of pictures as you've been putting up-

ahh my back yard- see those buildings-
last year- an hour- we'd get 8 points sort of like that- this year- 1 maybe 2-
that's the best cover in miles- thorns- yikes- they are just starting to get hard- mine start limping but they are fired up- going to be a good year for dog boots- I'm still having a time feeling something in one or two of my fingers- dang- thought as dry and nothing grows we wouldn't have the sand burrs

took this photo over the weekend while doing some training. I was able to step in front of the point for a "pheasants view"

From tonight. Indy got a pheasant in the plum thicket.
I don't have enough dogs (yet) to get a line of them like Shadow :)

maybe- but your two sure look like they have respect and work as a team

don't think I'll be letting more than 2 out at a time this weekend

a brace is fine enough-

I've been letting all 4 on the ground because I thought it was time they all learn to respect the other- 4 is not something I'd recomend- they are a handfull for sure- I can just barely handle them-

ps- you have 2 fine bird dogs- glad you carry the camera- you post beautifull pictures
good luck Saturday- I'm going to hold off on going out

Thanks,

It doesn't look like I am going to get to hunt until the 2nd weekend. Got to travel for work. Might be able to get out for and hour or two on Saturday, but that is boarderline at this point in time.
