WPA's Closed

Drove by the closest wpa and it had no signs saying it was closed or anything.

We even killed some waterfowl.

any new feet on the ground updates? hearing conflicting reports now with some saying that they did indeed put gates up out in the horicon. hoping it is just for the refuge??

i just did a "chat with an agent" and she didn't even know what WPA land was LOL!

I've been so wrapped up in the MN opener and the closing of the WPA's (primarily what we hunt) that it just occured to me that we also hunt mostly WPA's in SD. That trip is in three weeks and is a much bigger deal to our group as friends are flying in etc. This sux!

Minnesota WIA = South Dakota GPA = Iowa WMA. Near as I can tell state owned and managed land still open for public hunting. Federal WPA "reportedly" closed. Now boys and girls, Mr. Obama is going to help us with our Acronyms today.

i plan on hunting the WPA i always do on opener i hope others stay away i will be there hunting for sure not worried at all... cant wait!!!
