Windy and Warm Today

No bird hunting for me today, just some indoor batting practice with the ball team:thumbsup:

Good luck to those hunting this w/e! I think you're gonna need it:D

The weatherman just said something about me needing to stick around and listen to the detailed forecast b/c there might be a CHANCE OF SNOW toward the end of the week. Even a few flurries will greatly enhance the plans we've made for next w/e:cheers:
 
Too hot to hunt, great day to pick up a pup! At least that's what Stan told me. He'll be here at 10:00:) Ya'all have a good weekend!
 
Yep good day to get even more things done around the house. Would like to have gone but the wind and warm temps are a bit much for me.

Yea I had too pass on a duck hunt this morning. My wife has a long list of crap for me to do if I want to hunt next weekend. I better get off and get going.:eek:
 
Went and played golf this morning, played a little better, but still not up to standard.

Heading out for a quail hunt in the morning with Ace's breeder. He has a new pup that needs some exposure to birds and backing. It should be a good test of Ace, if the pup steals his point, he better stay put :D

Going to take the Go-Pro and see if I can get some video.
 
I got invited to the ku game I said no like a idiot I think I will sit in a tree in the pouring rain how freaking hillbilly is that? Wow and didn't see one freaking deer all day first time ever on opening morning that's sad! Not that I have been in a few years im done boring and ignorant
 
Opening morning? Which opening morning is it?

All these different deer seasons are rediculous.

How many could a guy possibly shoot now?

Still not sure what was wrong with Muzzy, bow and rifle season. If they need to kill more deer in a particular unit just lengthen the season or up the bag limits. Why get fancy with all the special seasons?
 
I went out today with Ace's breeder. It was crazy windy.

We hunted one of the thickest patches of CRP if have seen in years. Didn't see any pheasants in there, but did see a couple of roosts. Thats a place I would like to hunt with a good snow on the ground.

We did find 2 coveys. But they were very spooky. My buddys pup bumped the first one. But I saw several single flush 15 yards from the dogs in decent cover. Not something that you normally see. The wind must have been blowing 30+ when we were on the quail.

Fun to get out, but it sucked having to leave Indy at home.

In mo jack lol I thought I might get a jump on the Kansas deer :D I don't think I could kill one there a few weeks early im terrible
 
Wind was absolutely terrible went out looking for Quail found three coveys, two of them pointed and one didn't hold. Birds were very spooky as they always are on windy days. Shot 1 bird....you know how it is one guy trying to flush, they always go out the other side. Oh well that's hunting, nice to see the quail.
 
Was planning on chasing quail on Sunday morning. My plans got changed when a buddy called with a plumbing emergency at his house on Saturday. When I got home I got the "I figured you'd clean up leaves today".:eek: With the wind and temp and the fact I was on my own, the leaves got cleaned up on Sunday.
