Tony sees those type roosters and he just ignores them. Just lucky I guess..........Bob
 
my dogs dont care a bird is a bird to them that pic would mean fried chicken for supper if my dogs were in it
 
I loved the title.
I have had dogs that liked chickens and others that did not like the birds so much but none that would lay with them.

No way that would happen at my house... Our dogs would love nothing more than to get into the pen with our hens. We would be eating chicken noodle soup for a month if it ever happened... I don't think my dog could ever be "friends" with a bird.
 
My dog gets along well with 6 chickens my mom has out at her home. I was shocked when I seen it!

I know several lab guys that regularly test their dogs with birds like that to be sure they are steady and don't "go" till told. I also know at least 3 hog hunters who keep a pig or two (usually a baby wild hog they caught and raised) around just so that they can maintain a handle on their dogs around the hogs. Haven't heard of any of them saying that it takes the prey drive out of the dogs though. I'm sure a bunch of us have pigeons in the back yard that we use for training, and the dogs see them all the time. Have to agree though, that is one laid back bird dog. lol
