When you have a addiction you should stay out of gun shops

The best gun buying investment I have ever made was to purchase five Ruger #1single shots when they discontinued them several years ago.
They were selling for $895 and I bought a 250 Savage, 257 Roberts, 6.5x55 Swede, 7x57 Mauser and a 35 Remington. If you want sticker shock just look on GB or Guns International and see what they bring now. Mine are all new in the box. Much better than the stock market.

You’ve got great taste in Cartridges. Was looking at Savage 99s in .250 Savage last night. My Kimber Classic Select in .257 Roberts is my favorite deer rifle. That’s unless I’m carrying my Winchester 1885 6,5x55 Shot Show Special. And I’m always on the lookout for the perfect donor to build a 7x57.

I've never shot a 35 Remington but I own or have owned all of the others. I bought those #1's because I love that rifle and I figured they would be a good investment especially since those cartridges aren't seen much anymore. I had a Savage 99 takedown in 250 Savage and it had the brass cartridge counter in the window. I wish I hadn't sold it! I had one in .308 that was aluminum.
I also had a Ruger 77 in 250 Savage and one in 257 Roberts. Back in my limited funds gun trading days I needed to sell some to buy another. I don't remember what I bought but I should have kept those Rugers and that Savage!

I have a M77 Tang Safety 250 Savage and a M77 MkII in 257 Roberts. My Savage 99 in 250 is a 99R, heavy and bulky, but it has taken several whitetails for me. Same as the other two. The Roberts has taken several Antelope at longer ranges, one out to 400 yards sitting down off shooting sticks. At 72 years old I don't plan on adding to the safe much anymore.
