Weather impacting birds?

"The whole time I was in Las Vegas it was about 10* cooler than Wichita. They even got showers a couple days while we were there."

That sounds typical for Las Vegas this time of year. Vegas sits in a desert zone, true, but that area starts getting summer monsoon rain storms right about the same time the weather here in Kansas gets real hot and the rains slack way off.

Not that I'm tempted to fly to Vegas. Why hit Vegas when I can blow my hunting budget by gambling in the local auto repair shop that ripped me off last year?

First rain at my house in NE Wichita since July 3rd last night.

It rained for quite a while. If we keep turning into a desert Im going to have to look into putting in a rain barrel or two so I can water the plants.

Its going to be nasty today with the humidity though.

It is 106 now and have all three dogs in my office in the basement with me. Now they may think they can hang out here all the time. If your dogs temp gets past 104 it can cause death in just a few minutes. I am no rocket scientist but I can do that math so I got them inside. Good luck and pray for rain and a north wind!

I'v had my shorthair in the house for the last 3-4 weeks, good thing he was potty trained as a pup. It's to damn hot for him to be on the concrete slap all day, even with a tarp for shade.
