Using wind

I find my dogs tend to range further on really windy days if the situation dictates hunting with the wind. Can't always get the perfect situation with the wind in your face. Prefer hunting into it or at least having it coming from the side whenever possible.

All kidding aside, it is possible to hunt pheasants, like ducks.Those well healed,proper gentlemen in Europe, always pass shoot pen raised birds.

What are we doing here Goose, flying kites?

I'm good not hunting in those strong gusty winds. I'll wait until I get a day when the wind is more manageable.

I'm talking about a steady 15 mph.

My experience has been the opposite. When it's windy birds are skittish and prone to fly way out in front of you.

Sometimes, but not always.It depends upon other perimeter factors.
