Ken, do you raise your own birds just for training? I have to go a trainer and then all he has is pigeons........Bob

FC those are great pics of the pups I like the first one with the bird in flight.
It's been so dang hot I would be worried about running the dog now? He could use it he has been a pain in the butt and needs some time to hunt.

I did some training this summer on fathers day. I did post some pics in that thread but I will put a couple in here so (Hen Hen Rooster) can practice his voyeurism:D

Great looking dogs FC. They have very focused eyes.

It looks like you use 'the boards' method of training. Where can I learn more about it?

We did some water work recently. ;)

We just buy adult Pheasants for training. We buy 50 or so at a time every couple weeks. I keep them in my pen with pigeons, it's about a 32 x 50 flight pen 14' tall and a shed 10 x 24. Pigeons I just go out and catch. I used to raise pheasants but have not had time the last couple years. I have an incubator so I could if I had some extra time. Maybe next year again.

Yes I use it for various things. Hup, Delivery, direction, steady drills etc. I learned from a few different pros. Not sure about a video. I will see if I can find something for you. It is difficult to explain. There are pros in your area that do it, if you would like to go hang out with the clubs and learn. Looks like your dog enjoys the pool.:D

Interesting Ken, Thank you. I live in the city, I guess I should have gotten same land in the country. But hindsight is always the best...........Bob

I'm betting he has one of those expensive digital camera with a reusable Memory Card. You know the ones I dream about..........Bob

My friend has a real nice dig. for the field. I have a standard dig. couple hundred dollar job, for all the easier pics. I still have some shots I am trying for. They are hard to get even with a good camera. I need web guy with his super duper multi power xxx2 million super zoom million burst wonder camera.

Goldeneye, Nice pics, I use a french fry basket from a restaurant with the handle bent up to step on. Got it for a buck at an auction.

morning run

Here is my brother with JP and Daisy after a morning run. This is after an hour and about 80 quail. JP got about 15 flushes in and Daisy held her one with about 8. I was having trouble last year with JP ranging to far, but he seems to have reeled himself in to the comfort zone. Daisy wasn't busting cover like I would like, but after her first flush today she understood why she needs to be in the cover.
