Title Town

Manhattan KS, Home of Big 12 Football, Basketball and Baseball Champions for 2012/2013.

It was great watching these guys perform so well this season. My kids and I were there to see the Tex Tech and TCU baseball games, both of which KSU won. That baseball team may not have the biggest names in D1 baseball, but they are a team and they play the game with genuine enthusiasm.

We were also fortunate enough to see the big football win against Texas.

I love watching the home team beat any Texas team:cheers:

What are our chances of regionals being hosted in Manhattan?

Didn't K State share the B 12 B ball title with KU? Wasn't this the first time that KSU had actually gotten a part of that title in years? But, I think KU actually won the B 12 tournament didn't they?

Really makes no matter to me as I never attended or graduated from either school so I have no ties at all and am neutral.

Between KU and K-State, there is no place for being neutral :D

KU has to win Football and Baseball, before they can crow. :p

Ha ha! Very true!

Now lets throw WSU into the mix. I know they aren't big 12 but look at Basketball and Baseball.

I wish they would play KU and KSU in basketball regular season non conf instead of exhibition games.

I think the big 12 teams are skeered of lil ole WSU and don't want another loss added to their records in basketball.

Do they ever play against each other in Baseball?

You can tell I have no idea what I am talking about. I'm just posting to see myself post. LOL!

Ku will never play WSU in regular season. All the benefit is to WSU. If ku get's beat it is a huge deal. If KU win's it's well that is what they are supposed to do. Can't wait to see Wiggins in KU blue:D

Ksu beat wsu in baseball this year. I think they played a 2 game series and won both of them. I assume ku played them in baseball as well.

I know wsu has a tradition of being great at baseball but my impression is they have been fairly mediocre over the past few years.

Carptom is right about the basketball games. The manhattan sports talk program had the Wsu coach on this past year. They asked him about playing ku and ksu. His response was, we would love to play them... But if I was the coach at ksu or ku there is no way I would play wsu.

Wsu would be competitive in baseball in the Big 12 and any other conference.
They have a good longstanding program and tradition.
Thier stadium is great.

But this is the year of the CATS!

It's nice having WSU in our state, but not in our conference or on our schedule. It means I can applaud all their success and root for them all year without being a traitor to my true home team.

I was really, genuinely excited for their program and for all my WSU alumni friends when they did so well in the NCAA tournament. I root for all the big 12 teams at tournament time too, but it's a slightly different feeling...

Gosh, we probably have a football game in about 3 months... Better check my tailgating supplies.

Oklahoma was indeed Big XII football champions, as was K-State. Not co-champions, just champions.

K-State was indeed Big XII basketball champions, as was KU. Not co-champions, just champions.

Spin it however you want, in whatever way you want, with whatever reasoning you want. The Big XII rules say there is no co-champions, only champions. If the record is tied at the end of the season, there are two champions. The trophy says Champion, not co-champion. End of story, thank you, goodnight.

(all in fun by the way, yet totally serious about it)

Get back with me when KSU has a Bowl victory, Final Four and a Baseball College World Series appearance in the same year. For that matter just get back with me when KSU wins a Bowl game. KU has won 3 since KSU has won a bowl game; and one of those was a BCS Bowl victory something KSU has never done.

Pa pow!! Ha ha!!!

Just adding fuel to the fire is all I'm doing.

I was excited for WSU as well. They probably have the second best basketbal program in the state behind KU as far as D1 colleges go. They have always had a good basketball and baseball program though.

I'm ready to see what the Chiefs will do this year though.

But more importantly I'm ready to see what these young pointers are going to do this fall!!!

Come on hunting season!

The cats have more bowl wins than KU has bowl appearances.

It's a good thing that KU has some success in Basketball, because there's not much else.

Title town USA, Manhattan, KS

Compared to KU's Basketball program KSU has nothing!!! The KSU football program although a nice little story; can't win a bowl game anymore and time is running very short until your next Ron Prince takes over.

We are more than happy with our multiple sports titles

Some day KU might reach the same level of success.
