Timed pheasant hunt!

Competition killing game birds for cash and prizes...woohoo!
That is indeed, as those promoters label it, classic.

Not much into competitive pheasant hunting. Somehow I don't associate my time in the field with scores and timing and entry fees. Maybe its for a good cause, but I'll pass.

I watched this on TV. Even gun safety between the judges, the camera man, the dog, even the his handler/competitor are scary! I can't believe they run, and I mean run across the field, gun at port arms, shoot birds into fragments of feathered meat, ( wonder why they have trouble with retrieving... retrieving what?) dogs were working a small patch, hunting cover a wild bird dog would ignore, because he knows, and you know, no self respecting bird would be in. I do like the imagination of the hay piles to create cover and camo in snow fields, and no foul when you dog runs down the witless chukars .

killing

find your own drummer if you must but leave the work hunt out of it. if you can't do any better than that then maybe it's for you. think you ought to color it disgusting

cheers

Events like this don't do anything but hurt the sport of hunting. Paints us as a bunch of blood thirsty cretin's that just want to kill for killing's sake. Oh and time me to see how fast I can do it. Nice:eek:
