I truly forgot how much fun it was hunting in a fresh snow like the one which blanketed our area.
Even without the benefit of a dog, my father and I went out and about today. Unfortunately for him, he missed his opportunity for a rooster and I somehow managed to bag three. I can only imagine how much better it would have been with a dog, but it was still a load of fun nonetheless.
The birds were holding incredibly tight for the most part. I had to almost step on four different hens in one thick patch of CRP to get them to fly. There I really wish I would have had a dog.
Good luck to everyone going out this weekend.
