Funny you posted this today. Just this weekend I was at my dad's and saw some pics I hadn't seen in awhile. There were 20 roosters and 23 quail on the tailgate. My 9yo son was 2 or 3. The good ole' days weren't all that long ago for me. Now to cry a bit....the CRP is gone in the area where those birds were harvested. When I say gone, I mean there were 25-30 good CRP quarters in this area and all but 4 or 5 are plowed under. As we were looking out the window talking about the pics dad said, "party's over." I'd like to think the birds will still do well there on years the wheat does well. I like hunting CRP more though.
I saw 4 roosters out there, but no hens. In all fairness, I only walked a couple places and put maybe 35 miles on the truck driving backroads. The few places I walked weren't "guesses" my friends. They're good places that didn't have birds. Where there were 10 CRP WIHA fields there are now 2. One of which is half plowed under. 1/2 of the standing 1/2 was mowed this year. I just drove by with a
The wheat stubble was so thin I wasn't interested in hunting. Some places that are usually weedy weren't.
Fortunately I've found some other pretty decent places these past few years. Too bad none of them come with a free place to stay or a grampa for the kids to go farmin' with

well, I just open another Beer to cry in. We are really in trouble. I've been talking with our PF guy's and they are working hard and crossing there fingers for some good weather next yr. let all hope for the best.

That's funny ! H.T. Buck was given to me by a friend that Has the 2009 NFC ( Joker ) Yes, I know...... A dog with no tail.
Sometimes I wonder if he has pointer in him. Maybe they just clipped his tail and made him a shorthair.
Now I started it.

You are right, but why would anyone want to cut the nose and legs of a setter
