The landowner call

kick them up

Well, when I saw the number on phone I was afraid to answer it. It was the Landonwer out west where I hunt. He said it was bad this year, but he has seen some birds but pretty spotty at best. He said that alot of the CRP WIHA had been mowed. He asked if I could come out mid Oct for a few days to build a deck on the old Farm house we are converting to our Hunting Lodge. I will be going out to help and bow hunt for deer the 14th-16th. I will let you all know what I see ( actually taking video and pics). He said that we will prob( have to hunt the private land to find birds, but will know more when he cuts milo. He also said bring alot of blue rock cause it may be the only thing flyin to shoot at.

Stay Tuned!

Kick'em Up!

If your landowner friend has some acreage in milo then you've got a decent chance of encountering some birds. Sure hope so anyway. Good luck to ya!

Well, I'm thinking there will be lots of milo for the birds to choose from. I know my pops planted quite a bit of "extra" milo this year b/c the dry-land wheat was such a dismal failure. I hope you're right about the milo providing some decent bird hunting this season:)

Glass half full

Well I sure hope the milo holds them, but the good news there is plenty of deer to shoot and the lodge now has a working bathroom said the landowner!

I also heard a couple covey's last weekend in Jeff Co. when I was planting so all is not lost.

Unless they take my guns, dogs, and right to wander aimlessly across the prairie; "All" will NEVER be lost;):)

C'mon now fellas, we're never wandering aimlessly when we are following a dog. You're always walking roughly in the direction of feathers.:D

New bathroom

Hey I hope they got a bathroom. This is an 80 plus yr old house that was given to us to make into our hunting lodge. Last season all we had was lights and heat ( Space heater) so it was "Rustic". Now we have a new kitchen, bathroom, paint, and adding a deck on in Oct. Still having the porta- potties delievered for the opener to avoid a line for the bathroom that would look like one at a pancake feed. :D

you gotta find your own 5 gal bucket!

That's nice, but it says, "Slippery when wet" I'd hate to slip off and land in my deposit:eek:

For all you aspiring inventors out there, this thing needs a heater rod in it that plugs into the trailer light receptacle. That brings this idea full-circle:thumbsup:
