Superstitious?

I have a routine I go through before every drop. First my vest goes on and I make sure I have an even amount of shells in each pocket, next I let JP out and he sits on the tail gate while I put his collar on in the same way and same hole every time. He has to stay there until the other dogs are ready and the guns come out. I don't know if its really superstitious but JP is top dog and deserves to come out of his box first, and making him wait until everybody else is ready sets the tone for a successful no nonsense run.

i have 2 blaze orange winchester ball caps one has an orange bill the other has a brown bill. if i need a gamechanger i simply switch hats it usually works for me:thumbsup:.the other superstition is my friends. you see according to him if i shoot the first bird of the day the day will usually be good for all hunting with us. but he still enjoys the times that he shoots the first bird and we don't have as good of luck.

I make sure I don't think about the day to come too much. Whether it's opening day or I'm about to leave on a hunting trip. It seems when I imagine how good opening day is going to be, or how much fun my hunting trip will bring about, just the opposite happens or I get a nasty cold or flu bug.

I tell my hunting party to do the same too. "Don't think about it too much, otherwise you'll build the trip up in your head and reality will let you down".;)
