Super nice weather and turkeys

I'm already almost done with my spring yard work which I usually do the first couple of weeks of turkey season when the Tom's are hened up. What on earth am I going to do with the rest of my spring? I guess I'll just have to hunt every weekend this spring.

Volunteer at Tuttle Creek to help with burning!!! It still keeps you in the turkey frame of mind, might give you a bunch of new spots to hunt, and could result in a bag full of morels too. All that before the fun begins!

Yeah its Nathan. I helped up there a few years ago with the flood recovery. Found 12 or so washed out pheasant nests. I believe tuttle creek flooded again this year. So the burning may be a little tougher with all the weeds. I doubt many crops were put in.

They flowed a ton of water through the spillway this Spring, and the lake got pretty high. But they also drained it pretty far down in the Summer and Fall to make some repairs. I'm sure there are some impressive stands of weeds in places.

My spring of hunting and lounging is being replaced by work. Construction in the Manhattan area is just incredible right now. I don't know if I'm coming or going. Someone is going to have to pick up my Turkey slack.
