Only another pup or a new gun will fix my mood after yesterday and I was thinking of one theses in 12 ga as a inexpensive back up gun

Does anyone have an opinion

Steve

Stoeger's shoot fine. I think they are a bargain but, of course, not as nice as guns twice and more in price. Good back up gun if you are so fortunate.

I've got the new pup for you!

The new pup is already picked out! The breeding isn't happening for another 5 months...... So a gun it is

I own two of them one 16 ga and one 410--both work just fine and I've had no troubles after 3 yrs--for the price they work well and would be a nice backup gun. IMO

Just MHO but, I think that the cost of the Condor can buy you allot more quality in a used pump or an auto loader than in an o/u. Unless of course the new gun must be an o/u. If so, go for it. It just seems that a quality used auto or pump would make a more reliable back up.

I own a 870, BPS, montefeltro, and odd sxs! So this gun really isn't a backup! I just want a o/u and don't want to spend to much.

I'm guessing that there is not much left of a pheasant after touching that thing off, huh?

I did not have very good luck with me stoegers. Every one I owned, and they sent me 3 new guns, all quit working for me in the field. They work great at first, then shells start to stick and the ejectors don't work. Then usually somewhere later in the season they quit firing! First time it happened I forgot to bring the spare gun, went to town and bought a used pump! Stoeger kept sending me new guns every year when I would send the old gun in for repair, I just got tired of never being able to trust the gun. My experience, don't waste your money. I sold my latest "brand new" one to my buddy for $100 and told him no guarantees!

Gatzby,

I bought a stoeger condor 12ga last year before pheasant season in CO. My other shotgun is an 870. I love my Stoeger it has become my go to gun for hunting. Now mind you i am a carpenter and would love to own a o/u that cost way more but unfortunately i dont have the money at this point in my life for one. To be honest when i am in the field and hunting with my gsp there are times when i need to put the gun down to check my dogs feet, or clean a cut, and I never think twice about setting the gun down to take care of my dog. It is a cheaper gun but i haven't had a problem with mine. If your looking for a cheaper o/u i would highly recommend it.

Chris

Thanks everyone for your input. I picked one up tonight, it really seems like a very nice gun especially for $400

there's 20 ga sxs i kinda got roped into in the same week.
i was just commented on the fact my bi annual stipend for gun buying was gone. actually , in regaerd to the actual thread id say buy whatever one wants. i like double barrels ,its just i noticed how inconvenient they are in a duck blind or dove shooting.
the .375 i just been kinda wanting for a while.its a left handed "african" ,barrel band sling mount, etc
it coulda been a .338 but they dont make em like that.didnt want the .338 rcm
i hope all have fun with both their new and old guns and new and oldpuppies

I have one in a 12 and love it! I use it on 90% of my hunts except on an occasion I will break out my old Rem. 1100. I have been thinking about getting another one in a 20.

I have owned two. Hated them both. Worked fine got what I paid for. They are a tank to carry even in the O/U. The fit of the pieces was loose. No real features to speak of but they did shoot straight. Eventually traded them in one eventually became for a nice 12ga. Beretta semi auto and the other for a Winchester O/U with adjustable comb.
