Spring or the end of Winter

I don't know if I believe it's spring or just a prolonged winter dragging on. Thunder today and driving cold rain north of KC. Last several springs this has continued into June, with cooler than normal temps and heavy chilling cold rain. Hoping for a better pattern this year, but looks familiar. Not good.

i know. I miss the predictable spring. All this moisture would be good if it ever warms. Looking forward to mushrooms and crappie. Sure wish we could have a good spring hatch with no flooding or hail. The little chickies will need the warmth in the spring. Here is hoping for good weather for the quail.

Cold, dingy, sloppy, rain and big wet snow flakes today. At least soil moisture won't be an issue! Assuming it ever warms up.

yea i can't even get my boat out of the barn to get it set up for this summer. I bought a new motor to put on but can't get the boat out to work on it. I did see 2 quail in front of my house, and 2 huge coyotes in field across the street this morning. Coats were real thick. By the time I got the rifle they were headed out. Maybe next time.

We have been real wet and have had the second most snow on record. Deep snow was on here for lots of days and even though I had several food plots and good cover havent seen any quail where there were some before the storms. But quail are sometimes there and you dont see them and hopefully thats the case. Do know they were real hungry and the predators would have been hard on them too.

It was just starting to dry out enough that a guy might have been able to do some dirt work but we just got another 8 tenths of an inch of rain last night so it looks like at least another week, probably two before I can turn a disc in my plots. Guess I can break out the chainsaw and RU and start doing some more edge feathering.

Must be spring, I had the first tick of the new season yesterday. Probably brought home by one the bird dogs.
