Couple of trials for any one wanting to check it out. Thursday and Friday this week in New Glaris WI Oasis game farm, and Sat and Sun in Joliete IL at the DesPlains wild life Area. Mid west field trials . I will be judging Puppy's on Thurs. stop in and see what its all about. A bunch of fun for you and your spaniels.

They will get started at about 8ish am. I will roll in about 10ish, I am going to train first. I am down here now staying in Mazomanie. I wanted to beat the stupid snow storm. Just started raining here. Are you swinging over there? Very tough competition in the Armature Fri. Poor fat out of shape River has to run against a bunch of ringers, even a National Champion. She will show up to run though. Good place to go scratch hunt on the weekend.

Well she did great. Stepped on my weenie in the 3rd, tried calling her off a runner and that went bad, she got it but made it sloppy. My fault. Then she was an absolute pleasure to watch. A croud pleaser.WOW. never placed but got chewed out for causing her downfall from top honners. My fault totaly, and I knew afterward. Judges really liked her but my screw up cost her her first all age win or placement for sure. Felt good when the dogs that were there were so talented. Even a NFC, so I was proud of her getting a 3rd and finishing the trial. She had 70 yard finds, but my "stupid" cost her. Hope to do better for her tomorrow in IL. I am an ideot:thumbsup:

You better get over there this weekend Chuckels and scratch hunt. Nice birds. Many got away.

You will have a better day today!!!! Good luck!!!!

Well still standing:D. I have both back to the third tomorrow. 13 back and I got 2. I am happy as heck even with that. Especialy since they have been cooped up since DEC with no training. Hope I don't screw up tomorrow. But I am ready for home after living out of the station wagon for 4 days with muddy wet dogs and stinky feet.

For you IL boys, not sure you can hunt this Des Plains wild life for birds now, but there is a bunch out there. Lots of nice deer too. I even flushed a wood cock today.

Good stuff! I missed your note - and didn't think about scratch birds - I should have gone down there! How is the place? I have never hunted there.

Chuck

Good job Fc, keep up the good work.

I don't know chuckles what all the cover is like. we just used a small area. I think they had property all around there, and much of it looked nice. Rolling hills and various brush and grasses. Some one was blasting up a storm after the 1st and second series was done. We went down the road a few miles for the 3rd series. Nice birds.

Well, When your on your on. Blue River I'm Dan's Boy AKA "Odie" just took home 2nd place in the open in Ohio. Whoo Hoo. Him an Ken hit it off. He will now be headed to the US National Open Championship. Not to bad 2 trials and 2 placements, and against very good dogs.

Our club trial was today, and I was sanding drywall. River is doing the girl thing. So I'm done. There is 2 at Majior ave in Glencoe next thurs - sun. And then Odie will run in Brainard with Ken 2 weeks from today. I will just go to bring him home to the foot of the bed. So if any one wants, these will be great trials, 50 plus dogs in the AM. Big trials, many good dogs. Spectators welcome. I will have a cool one with anyone wanting to go to Brainerd.

Congrats Ken! I hope I can get Elle to that point in NSTRA. I am taking her to Morgan Haglin at Pine Shadows in Brainerd tomorrow to have him work on cleaning up her delivery.
