It looks like you guys may get some much needed moisture in a couple of days. They are forecasting 6-12" of the white stuff. Good Luck I hope you get it. They say this will probably translate to 1" of rain or so. Hey it is a start.

weather

my weather man called this morning and said the chances of moisture in at least the n. half of kansas is pretty good, maybe 5 days out of the next 10., some with a 80% chance. maybe pastor john did some praying

cheers

Hope it comes straight down and sits on that wheat for 3 or 4 weeks! suppose to miss me, only 3 or 4 inches here, but Eastern and North East Colorado forecasting 6-12" !!! Fingers crossed guy's!

14 inches so far and another 12 to 14 forcasted at the current rate of 2 inches an hour i'm guessing we will get more and it will be a wet spring when she starts thawing out to bad its after hunting season but i will take all we can get

The birds have had a mild winter and are in really good shape. One big snow event won't hurt them. If we get several more on top of this one then it may.

Gove,

Well I'm glad your getting snow. Hopefully it will not affect the birds. That much snow will be GREAT for Spring, Summer.. Farmers need it, all wildlife need it. Keep her coming....

I've got 12-15 inches on the ground and it started up again in the last half hour. Should really help with moisture. Won't break the drought, but it's a good start!

We have a fair amount of snow on the ground now, maybe 8" right now.
I don't like seeing snow on the ground more than a couple day for quail.

The snow is needed, but I would like to see it melt over a few days.

We have 8 inches or so right now. The snow stopped, but now we're seeing some freezing rain. I guess there's about 1/16" of ice accumulated on the steps and handrails here at the plant. The top of the snow 'pack' is crusty/crunchy.

the ice is the worst of all for all upland game birds pheasant turkey & quail... prairie grouse are tuff but they dont like the ice on the ground either...

any snow & or ice reports for like the NC part of KANSAS like JEWEL county & SC part of NEBRASKA like around FRANKLIN county???

just check n on the snow & ice out that way turkeys in particular... also love to see MR BOB WHITE in that country...

In laws in NE Russell county got over 12 inches and it was still snowing when we talked several hours ago. More moisture predicted for Sunday night into Monday. I would like to see this melt in a few days. Cover conditions are poor and the quail will suffer if it hangs on very long. Pheasants will last a bit longer, but all are exposed this year to the elements.

Glad to hear all the snow reports. I think the official total in wichita was a little over 14". Tough to say for sure how much water that is, and even more the point, how much of stayed where it fell instead accumulating in a nearby drift. At this point, everything helps.

I'm sure hoping we get more sunday into monday. We're a long way from the end of this drought, but snows like these sure help the crops.

More Snow

Yea it sounds like you might get some more, but they are saying not near the amount of the first snow.
