How much snow you all got? I'm in southern Indiana, about an hour north of KY. Looks like around a foot now. Not quitting until around 2 this afternoon. Not going to get above freezing for a couple weeks. That's not going to help the few wild quail we have left!!

Hell froze over up here weeks ago that storm just started here this morning Lake Erie basically my front yard yesterday -33 wind chill. Feel sorry for critters IMG_8330.jpeg

In NE Texas, we got a0bout 2-3 inches of snow and an 1-2 inches of sleet/frozen rain combo. Sitting at 19 degrees now. A real challenge for this part of the world.

Here in NW Indiana, we have already received 62+ inches of snow so far in 2026 and it continues to come down hard as I type this. I hope NW Iowa and central South Dakota are not buried in snow. Temperature here is presently 12 degrees, feels like -5.

I had -41 wind chill on Friday. Air temp was -21. Coldest day in 7 years.

I hunted virtually the entire season from mid November through December in deep snow and it mostly sucked. If you're just getting snow now, consider yourself lucky.

So far it’s an easy winter on the birds. Very little snow. Thats the good news. The bad news is we NEED a good spring melt. I have watched a local lake completely disappear the past few years. This thing used to be 26-28 feet deep. Gone. The only cricks with water are the ones with beaver. Im sure there is a huge fish kill every winter on our local river. The birds are having a good time tho.
