Seeing good bird numbers

Friend has been combining wheat and seeing a lot of young birds. Also saw several broods in double digits.

Farmer said he didn't see much when he was haying, but is seeing a bunch combining the wheat. Seems like you never really know till you bust some cover.

I saw a few when cutting hay. But now that the alfalfa is cut shorter Im seeing quite a few more. They (quail) dont really use the field in the fall and winter but they sure are enjoying it this summer. Lots of bugs and plant life to snack on.

I just heard from the farmer where I hunt in Miner County. She said that the CRP looks excellent, crops are growing, and there seems to be a lot of birds out there. We might be looking at another good year!
